Scope and content:

This collection, which dates ca. 1959 to 1962, consists of a Chi banner and a novelty field hockey stick signed by Constance Applebee.

Biographical / historical:

Patricia Anne Pearce of Princess Anne, Virginia was born in 1939 to Harry Lee and Selma Frank Pearce. In 1959, she enrolled as a student at then-Longwood College and graduated in 1962 with a bachelor's degree. While a student at Longwood, Pearce served as circulation manager of The Colonnade (student magazine) and was a member of the Student Education Association, Longwood Players, and the Wesley Foundation.

Custodial history:

The items in this collection, which belonged to Patricia Pearce while a student at Longwood College, were later acquired by Nancy Shelton during her tenure with the Longwood University Department of Alumni Relations. It is unknown when this collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives.
