This collection, consisting of (1) hardbound ledger, contains the constitution, by-laws, and meeting minutes of the Jefferson Debating and Literary Society. It ranges in date from 1910 through 1926.
- Biographical / historical:

The Jefferson Debating and Literary Society was formed in 1910 as an alternative to the existing four literary societies already existing at [then] State Female Normal School. The Jefferson Society as well as the Ruffner Society were meant to offer those students not already in a literary society the opportunity to participate in debate and literary discussion. The organization existed on campus from 1910 to 1929.
