Scope and content:

These items date from 1911 to 1912 and contain clippings and quotes from Avis Kemp's classmates.

Biographical / historical:

Avis Lorraine Kemp of Norfolk, Virginia, attended [then] State Female Normal School from 1910 to 1912. During her time at the school Kemp served as Art Director for The Virginian (yearbook) and was a member of the Athenian Literary Society. Additionally, she was named best artist, daintiest, and neatest, in the class of 1912 senior superlatives.

Custodial history:

These scrapbooks originally organized by Avis Kemp, were donated to the Greenwood Library Archives by her nieces, Mary Arthur Stoudemire ('34) and Anna Billups Jones ('40).
