These scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings primarily from the Charlottesville Daily Progress concerning the activities of the Civic League of Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

Biographical / historical:

The Civic League of Charlottesville and Albemarle County was formed in 1951 as the Civic Beauty Association. Its goal was to promote civic improvement while retaining the community's individual character, to initiate or support plans for historical preservation sites and monuments, and to recognize individual civic accomplishments.
