The collection contains a one-page statement of subsistence purchased, impressed, and received in tax in kind in the 4th district of Virginia by A. W. Harris, a captain in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. The food (including bacon, wheat, corn, and beef) are dated to be purchased between March 25, 1864, to June 30, 1864, in Russell, Washington, and Scott counties.
