Scope and content:

The Records of the Horticulture Club in this collection include 7 photograph albums, 6 scrapbooks, 11 plaques, 4 certificates, newsletters, pamphlets, CDs and film strips, plant sale information, and other assorted photographs and paper documents related to the Horticulture "Hort" Club at Virginia Tech from 1947-2024.

Biographical / historical:

The Horticulture "Hort" Club at Virginia Tech was first established in 1922 as the VPI Horticultural Society. The Horticulture Club represents the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences through participation in the National Collegiate Landscape Competition, campus social events, and clean-up projects. The Horticulture Club also supports and services the local Blacksburg community through plant sales and educational projects at local schools.

Acquisition information:
The Records of Horticulture Club were transferred to Special Collections and University Archives in April 2025.
