The Guy D. Aydlett Photograph Collection consists of photographic prints from around 1938-1940 taken by Guy D. Aydlett, a former student at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (now Virginia Tech). This collection includes photographs of airplanes, VPI Airport, campus views, the Corps of Cadets, Cotillion Club dances, women students, and other student activities.

Guy Donahue Aydlett was born on January 4, 1915, in Norfolk, Virginia, U.S.A., to father, Quinton Trotman Aydlett, and mother, Sarah Elizabeth Thompson. He had two brothers: Charles Earl Aydlett (1903-1972) and Lt. Col. Fred Wilton Adylett Sr. (1906-1980), who fought in World War II and the Korean War. Guy attended Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute from 1938 to 1940, before joining the war efforts. He married Violet Louise Hayes on 15 August 1940, in Roanoke County, Virginia, United States. He worked as an Engineer and lived in Kempsville District, Princess Anne, Virginia by 1940 and Greece, Monroe, New York by 1950. He died on September 4, 1996, in Earlysville, Albemarle, Virginia, United States, at the age of 81.
