Scope and content:

This collection is comprised of photography, published work, and the personal correspondence of Barbara J. Reeves. Barbara Reeves was a professor at Virginia Tech from 1993-2019.

Barbara Reeves Academic Background- This file includes an Obituary, Curriculum Vitae, and a photocopy of an academic grant Barbara Reeves received.

Photograph Portraits- This folder includes two envelopes and nine black and white portraits of Physics Professors at Ohio State University. There are two photos of Wave Shaeffer- A labeled paper and Fig.33 Fig.27- Robert Victor Zumstein Fig.32- Alfred Lande Fig.2- Alpheus W. Smith Four portaits are unidentified. Fig. 4 may be Llewellyn Thomas

Photographs of Graduate Laboratories at Ohio State University, 1949-1959- This file includes 20 black and white labeled photographs of Ohio State University professors and graduate students in Physics and Astronomy laboratories.

Photographs of Graduate Laboratories at Ohio State University, Undated- This file contains 24 black and white photographs of Ohio State University professors and graduate students in Physics and Astronomy laboratories.

Ohio State University Program Booklets- This file contains eight booklets on Ohio State Univeristy academic programs. Two copies of an Ohio State University booklet labeled "Graduate Study and Research in Physics and Astronomy", undated. 1949's publication of "Graduate Physics at OSU", bound in cardstock with molecules shooting like astroids on the cover. Two copies of the 1951 version of "Graduate Physics at Ohio State", bound in green carstock with a galaxy and atom on the cover. A green "Physics and Astronomy at The Ohio State University" booklet published 1959. A letter coupled with a light green booklet titled "Agronomy; 1960; Research and Teaching Programs". A stapled packet titled "High School Conference in Mathematical and Physical Sciences; The Ohio State Univeristy" dated March 16th, 1979.

Barbara Reeves Correspondence and Envelopes- This file contains two letters to Barbara Reeves with their original envelopes, one letter from Reeves to Frannk A. Padovano, and one letter from an editor to a professor regarding one of Barbara Reeves publications. Barbara Reeves Personal Notes and Reminders- This file contains two folders with personal notes on the collections photographs and two papers with quick reminders on graduate student names and appointments.

Acquisition information:
This collection was transferred to Special Collection and University Archives in 2024.
