This collection contains event posters, DVDs, VHS tapes, a cut-out from the Collegiate Times, and a painted muslin canvas created by the Virginia Tech Asian American Student Union. The majority of this collection is made up of event posters and audiovisual materials created by the VTAASU.
Front page of the Collegiate Times newspaper dated September 13, 2001, including articles about the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the reaction of the campus community, and Virginia Tech's fourth annual Celebration of Diversity which was held as plabnned on September 12, 2001 rather than being cancelled.

The Virginia Tech Asian American Student Union (VTAASU) was founded in the early-1990s, in either 1991 or 1992. The VTAASU acts as an umbrella organization for the Asian/Pacific Islander/Desi American (APIDA) organizations on campus. The organization's mission statement is to "strive to enhance and further the individual, cultural, and ethnic diversities that exist in the APIDA communities" and to "make efforts to address the problems, issues, and concerns of the APIDA communities to the administration and other fellow student organizations".
