The collection consists of the research, drawings, working drafts, and illustrations for Roxana McDonald's book entitled The Fireplace Book published in 1984.
- Biographical / historical:

Roxana McDonald was born in Romania, where she did restoration work, before moving to Britain and completing post-graduate studies in Building Conservation. McDonald is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and does work in restoration specializing in the refurbishment of fireplaces. In 1984, she published The Fireplace Book (The Architectural Press: London), a book which explores the revival of the fireplace in the home, as well offering guidance to the conservationist as to how fireplaces and chimney's can be renewed.
