Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of a small manuscript booklet with notes and lyrics for music lessons. Included are notes on general scale, rudiments of music, moods of treble time, moods of common time, and clefs; pages of musical notations; and song lyrics. The cover bears the date 1831.

Acquisition information:
The Music Book was acquired by Special Collections and University Archives prior to 1991.

The processing and description of the Music Book commenced and was completed in September, 2022.
