Charles R. Palmore Account Book, 1870-1881, records the accounts of individual patients of Dr. Palmore. The accounts list in chronological order the amount owed and paid by patients for visits, medication, consultation, and other medical services. Payments to physician made with cash, tobacco, fodder, wheat, and chickens.

Biographical / historical:

Cumberland County was named for William Augustus, duke of Cumberland, third son of King George II. It was formed from Goochland County in 1749. The county seat is Cumberland.
