Biographical / historical:

Susan Mathias Smith (1950-2024), of New Market, was a published author and held many positions in the Shenandoah County Public School System. She taught English at Stonewall Jackson and Central High Schools, and was the librarian at North Fork Middle School. She was the Coordinator of Media Services and Public Affairs for the school system for most of her career.

Shenandoah County Public Schools was established in 1870. SCPS serves over 5,000 students in ten schools with a mission to prepare each student for a future of life-long learning.

Donated by Susan M. Smith on September 8, 2020.
Processing information:

This collection was received from Susan Smith in a cardboard box without original order. Slides were sorted by date if present and placed into slide archival boxes. When possible, undated slides of similar types or subjects were sorted together. Some slides were received in individual storage boxes with labels and those are strored together with appropriate titles.

Arrangement:

Items in this collection are ordered chronologically with undated slides at the rear.
