      <head>Biographical Information
</head>
      <p>The son of John Poole and Elizabeth Arnold, Lindsey Gleaves Poole was born on 31 July 1873.  He married Minnie Nora Martin (1882-1965) on 12 February 1907 and had one son, James William Poole (1908-1974).  Poole operated a lumber hauling business as well as a taxi company.  He also was co-owner of Shores Motor Company which opened in 1911 providing garage storage, repairs, supplies, and fuel for Wythe County motorists.  Poole died on 27 October 1952 and is buried in East End Cemetery in Wytheville, Virginia.
