Tom Angleberger (William & Mary '92) is an American author and illustrator of children's and middle-grade books. He has published approximately 20 titles, some co-written or co-illustrated. Angleberger is best known for his New York Times bestselling Origami Yoda series. In addition to his fiction, Angleberger worked as a newspaper reporter for the Roanoke Times. He is married to fellow author and illustrator, Cece Bell.
Materials are arranged by book project title, in alphabetical order. Within each project folder, original order has been maintained.
The collection showcases the creative and revisionary process for a published children's author, including editing interactions and the development of characters. Ralph McQuarrie (1929-2012) was an illustrator and designer who worked on the original Star Wars film trilogy, ET, the Extra-Terrestrial, and Cocoon. His conceptual illustrations were instrumental in bringing the original Star Wars script to life.
Series contains correspondence between Angleberger and publishering houses, Henry Holt Books for Young Readers and Farrar Straus Giroux, as he sought a publisher for his 2012 book, Horton Halfpott.
