    <head>Scope and Contents</head>
<p>Scrapbook containing photographs, newspaper clippings, ribbons, and ephemeral material relating to Pearl Polk Chapleau from Memphis, Tennessee who was a champion foxhunter.  The contents record her activities in and among various foxhunting groups including exhibitions, American Kennel Club events, and hunts conducted by Chapleau along with her numerous fox hounds.  A very accomplished person in her sport, Chapleau's expertise was sought after by many sporting groups in the South. Some of the sanctioning bodies Chapleau worked with include the AKC, Gulf Coast Foxhunters' Association, Tri-State Foxhunters' Association, and the Southern States Foxhunters' Association.</p>  </scopecontent>
