    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Fitzhugh Lee, nephew of Robert E. Lee, was born in 1835 and died in 1905, He graduated from the United States Military Academy and served in the Confederate Army as staff officer to Richard S. Ewell and to Joseph E. Johnston and as lieutenant-colonel of 1st Virginia Cavalry. He was senior cavalry commander of the Army of Northern Virginia and served as governor of Virginia 1886-1890 and as consul-general in Havana.</p>  </bioghist>
