    <head>Scope and Contents</head>
<p>This collection contains correspondence, a diary, and other material collected by Jack Beck Bryan related to his stay at a Citizens Military Training Camp (CMTC) at Camp Knox, Kentucky during the summer of 1925. Camp Knox officially changed its name to Fort Knox in 1932. The Citizen Military Trianing Camps allowed male citizens to obtain basic military training without any requirement to be called for active duty. Bryan writes to friends back home in New Philadelphia, Ohio pertaining to his daily life at camp, including going on a boat trips, shooting at the rifle range, and attending movies and dances. Also included in the collection is a diary that Bryan kept during his summer at Camp Knox; a pencil drawing of one of the officers at the camp, and a map showing the locations of all the Citizen Military Training Camps in the United States.</p>  </scopecontent>
