Collection is open to all researchers. Scope and Contents
The stereograms in this collection represent racist attitudes of the time period and also the struggles of a minority population. Stereograms are an early form of photography which was often used for educational purposes. When a view finder is used to look at the stereograms, the images appear to be three dimensional.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
This collection of stereoviews originated from two sources. The original stereograms (items one through 10) are from Acc.2010.058. The reprints (items 11 through 27) are from Acc.2009.180. Item 28 (The "Strenuous" Life of the Hopi Indians) does not currently have a provenance associated with it.
