Scope and Contents

Contains account books, meeting minutes, reports, and other material from The Pauline Home for the Aged in Columbus, Ohio. The home provided housing for elderly women in the community. It was originally founded in 1887 as The Deutsche Protestantische Wittwen Heimath, changed its name again in 1905 to Der Deutsche Altenheim Verein von Columbus, Ohio, and then was re-established in 1918 as The Pauline Home for the Aged. The records consist of four bound volumes with loose treasurer's reports and meeting minutes found inside each volume. The first volume includes the meeting minutes of the Board of Trustees of the home from 1905-1940, but does not cover every year. The first few meeting minutes are in German, while the rest are in English. The other three volumes consist of the treasurer's cash books from 1917-1936 showing the deposits and disbursements made by the home each month. No patient names are mentioned except for a few down payment notations.
 </scopecontent>
