Some books have an index. Census reports list him as a barber and confectioner.
Thaddeus S. Harris, a free Black citizen, was a merchant in Abingdon, Virginia during the mid to late 1800's. He was born in Campbell County, Virginia and was listed as a free black barber on the 1850 census, living with Leander Harrison, a barber operating in Lynchburg, Virginia.
