    <head>Scope and Contents</head>
<p>This collection consists of miscellaneous Williamsburg and Virginia related materials, compiled by Marianna Broaddus. Included are a Colonial Williamsburg Foundation library exhibit catalog (1991), a Williamsburg Reunion booklet, and a print of John Tyler, Sr.'s home in Greenway, Virginia.</p><p> Also included are photographs, some of which relate to the Christian family, as well as typescripts (in part photocopies) of reminiscences of members of the Christian family about their life in Virginia from the Civil War onward.</p>  </scopecontent>

Photograph of "Wall Plantation" in Warwick County, Virginia. Reminiscences of Estelle Welch Habel who married James Turner Christian, about the Civil War while a young girl near Warrenton, VA. When General Geary and his staff took over their family home. Colonel Atwell brought his wife dressed as a soldier and he later helped save Estelle's grandfather's house in The Plains when it was going to be burned. Another letter by an unknown woman telling her children about plantation life before the war, especially the lives of the enslaved people. The house was called "Old Kalarama" and "Gratis." Reminiscences of Mrs. William Thompson Christian (Jane Sofia Gilliam) about the Civil War, mentioning a battle near her home and working at Winder Hospital in Richmond. A short genealogy of the Gilliam and Christian families is included.
