    <head>Biographical Information:</head>
<p>Bradley Tyler Johnson was born in 1829. He attended Princeton University. He became a lawyer and entered Democratic Party politics. Johnson led the Maryland Confederate cavalry under Wade Hampton in opposing the Kilpatrick-Dahlgren Raid, led a cavalry brigade under Jubal Early in the Valley of Virginia in 1864, and executed Early's order to burn Chambersburg, Pa. He wrote a Memoir of the Life and Public Service of Joseph E. Johnston (1891) and General Washington (1894).
