<p>Captain Edward Rush Young was stationed on Jamestown Island, Virginia during 1861. He was born in Granville County, North Carolina and practiced medicine in Halifax County, Virginia. He was Captin of the Company of Riflemen from Halifax County, Virginia during the Civil War.</p>  </bioghist>
