    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Joseph Dillard Neikirk was born in 1911 and he graduated from VMI in 1932. He served as Executive Vice President of the VMI Foundation from 1954 until his retirement in 1978. Neikirk died in 1990.</p>  </bioghist>
