<p>This collection consists of one letter (dated May 16, 1910) from VMI Cadet William E. Dillard to his mother. In the letter Dillard describes in detail the Corps march to Staunton, Virginia, including events in camp and in Fairfield, Virginia and Staunton.</p>  </scopecontent>

<p>William Evans Dillard was born in 1893 in Amherst, Virginia. He graduated from VMI in 1913 and went on to become a banker and businessman. Dillard died in 1944 in Lynchburg, Virginia.</p>  </bioghist>
