<p>This collection consists of one letter (dated January 8, 1882) from Woodville G. Staubly to a Mr. Beckwith. The letter was written from Fort Grant, Arizona Territory. Staubly discusses the Native Americans condemned to death for a massacre at Fort Apache, and other aspects of United States government Native American policy.</p>  </scopecontent>

<p>Woodville Godfrey Staubly was born in 1856 in Petersburg, Virginia. He graduated VMI in 1877 and went on to become a pharmacist. Staubly died sometime before 1903.</p>  </bioghist>
