    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>William Hammond Milton, Jr. was born in 1900 in Roanoke, Virginia. He graduated VMI in 1920 and went on to become an executive with General Electric Company. From 1952 to 1960 he served as VMI Superintendent. Milton died in 1984 in Schenectady, New York.</p>  </bioghist>
