I expect you think I ought of answered your letter before now but I have had a goodeal of company since your Grandma came in She arrived here a bout a week after you left she says she wants to see you very much indeed Sarah wrote to you since she came home you must write often and Don't think any thing of my not writing often for I have so little to write a bout that it is hard for me to write a letter when do they think Mr Corothow's school will commence a gain I herd he was a goodeal better William Montague passed through Salem on his way home he sayed he was going home to assist his father in the office Mrs Basses Child died last night it was buried to day</p><p>William Edmundson spent a night with us last week he sayed his Mother was very uneasy about David is there any new cases lately Mr Harrison is here se[he] says you are the finest looking fellow he ever saw your Grandma and the girls are over the river visiting at this time and your Pa has gone to Siloid to bye Cattle and it is pretty late at Night so you must not expect a very long letter I thought you was waiting for and answer to your letter the reason you did not write we all talk a bout you every day give my respects to John Bowyer I believe he is one of your room mates we expect to kill a part of our hogs next week I wish you could be here to eat spare ribs and sausages I expect if you had a parsel of pig tails you and John would feast on them write soon and tell all about the fever<br/>
