Spring Creek Mill was completed between 1866 and 1868 along Spring Creek, a tributary of North River, in the unincorporated community of Spring Creek, located near Bridgewater, Virginia. The mill replaced an older structure that was burned during the Civil War. A general store addition was built in 1936. By the 1960s, both businesses were closed. During its operation, Spring Creek Mill was a roller grain mill, as opposed to a grist mill. Previous owners of the mill include E. W. Stover and Glenn R. Evers.
One bound ledger documenting the 1921-1923 daily business activities of Spring Creek Mill located near Bridgewater, Virginia. Entries include customer names as well as debits and credits for milling wheat, flour, feed, bran, corn, and barley. Payments were made to the mill by cash and check. Corporate entities listed in the daybook include Kiracofe & Miller, Mt. Solon, Bridgewater College, Jordon Bros., W. H. Sipe & Co., and more. Individual surnames include Arehart, Click, Craun, Cupp, Evers, Heatwole, Myers, Shirkey, Simmons, and more.
