The Archibald Taylor who patented an improvement in fence posts is presumed to be Major Archibald Taylor (1828-1882) who is buried in Keezletown Cemetery in Rockingham County. The William A. Shook who patented a holding frame for honey boxes is presumed to be William A. Shook Jr. (1877-1954), son of William A. Shook (1853-1936), who is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville.
Artificially compiled collection comprising two patents for inventions by Rockingham County residents. Archibald Taylor's 1876 patent is for an "improvement in fence posts." William A. Shook's 1927 patent is for a "holding frame for supporting honey boxes."
