    <head>Historical Note</head>
<p>The Women Association was founded and held in November 2 ,1970 in Lecture Hall hosted by Amelia Thompson with the topic of disucssing the foundations of the club. Back then, the Assocation was called the Faculty wives club and was made for as the name says for the wives of faculty members as they held programs such as: Bridge, book reviews, study of Porcelain, China, and Antiques, international  service, crafts, tennis, excercise, and Mother's  Tots. Over time, the club grew and changed it's name to GMU Faculty Women's club and even expanded the club to inculde all women from across the university as well as included new programs such as the Gourmet Club, and the theather group, as well as holding events such as club dinners and Luncheons. Today, the club is now called the Women's Associaton and is highly influential in activities for female to access across the university.</p>  </bioghist>

    <head>Scope and Content</head>
<p>This collection contains nine boxes that was donated by Women Association. The content in ost of these boxes are specific items about the association. Box 1-4 contain content from the board such as, newsletters, minutes, budget notes,  and handwrittten notes from board meetings. Box 5 contain contains items such as photos, membership card, and a dinner invitation from September, 1981. Box 67 contain paper that were made by the Assoication. Box 8 contains items from the Homeseekers and Gourmet clubs. Box 9 contains argubly the most significant find in this collection, it's a scrapbook containg memos, pictures, and letters collected from 1970-1978 by the association.</p>  </scopecontent>
