</head>
<p>Linwood H. Warwick (1887-1987) was born in Charlottesville, Va., the son of John Hughes Warwick and Rebecca Mann. After living in Clifton Forge as a youth, his family moved to Charlottesville after the death of his father in 1897. Warwick lived the rest of his life in Charlottesville.

</head>
<p>This is a memoir written by Warwick. He describes his childhood in Clifton Forge and living on Ridge Street in Charlottesville. After graduating from the Midway School in Charlottesville, he attended the University of Virginia. His spent his career with the Virginia Geology Survey.
</p>
<p>His memoir talks about various family members and relatives, including his great-grandmother, Martha Rebecca Kilby, who owned "Mountain Retreat" in the Ragged Mountains, and his grandfather, Auburn Mann.
