    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>Companies "D," "E," "G," and "K" of the 189th, New York Infantry left New York under orders to join the Army of the Potomac before Petersburg September 18, 1864. From October to December, Company "D" was involved in conflicts at Hatcher's Run and Warren's Raid on Weldon Railroad.
