Holtzworth, who attended VPI before graduating from West Point in 1927. He served in the U.S. Army from his time as a cadet at West Point until his retirement as Major General in 1963.</abstract>

    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>Bertram Arthur Holtzworth (1904-1971) was born in West Virginia to Arthur and Nettie Holtzworth. He attended Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (VPI) from 1921-1923 before moving on to the United States Military Academy (West Point), graduating in 1927. Holtzworth served in the United States Army from 1923 until 1963, fighting in both World War II and the Korean War, and retired as a Major General.
