Administrative History

Founded in 1899, the American Agricultural Chemical Company (AACC) was North America's largest fertilizer manufacturer, which sold the Agrico Fertilizer brand. In 1963, AACC was purchased by the Continental Oil Company (Conoco), and three years later AACC merged with another division of Conoco to become the Agrico Chemical Company (ACC). In 1972, the Williams Companies of Tulsa, Oklahoma, purchased ACC, but began to sell its assets in the 1980s, splitting the American and Canadian divisions. The Canadian division is now Agrico Canada L.P., part of La Coop fédérée of Québec since 2011.

External source:

"Our Roots," Agico Canada L.P., https://www.agricocanada.com/about-us/our-roots/, September 6, 2023.
 </bioghist>
