    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>Merwin Leven (1929-2007) was born to Menne and CeCelia (Yoffe) Leven in White Plains, New York. He entered Virginia Polytechnic Institute (V.P.I.) as a freshman in the 1948-1949 school year. He was a private in Company D in the Corps of Cadets.
