    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>Stockton Mosby McMurran (1887-1920) was from Campbell County, Virginia, and he was a member of the German Club when he attended VPI. After graduating from VPI in 1909, he attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he recieved his Master of Arts in Botany in 1911. McMurran worked as Assistant Pathologist for the U.S Department of Agriculture until his death in 1920.</p>  </bioghist>

    <head>Scope and Content</head>
<p>The Stockton Mosby McMurran Scrapbook, c. 1909, is a photograph album with pictures of the Missouri Botanical Garden and pictures from VPI. The first half of the scrapbook includes the following pictures from the botanical garden: the Missouri Botanical Garden Shelter (Pagoda), greenhouses, gardens, famous botanists, and related field scientists. The second half of the album includes the following picture from VPI: Price Hall, Lane Hall, campus views, country side, barns, the Grove, and track meets. Joe Luttrell, Hughes, and McCown are individuals identified in the track meet pictures.</p>  </scopecontent>
