    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>Aldo Leopold was born in Burlington, Iowa, on January 11, 1887. He went to Yale for their programs in Forestry. After graduating, he worked for the Forest Services where he was in charge of killing the predatory animals negatively impacting the local area. This brought about his research in environmental ethics. He was a professor at the University of Wisconsin. His works as an ecologist, forester and environmentalist were influential in the development of modern environmental ethics and the movement for wilderness conservation. His most well known work was <title render="italic">A Sand County Almanac</title> (1949).</p> </bioghist>
