    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>James Bernard Jones lived in Gordonsville, Virginia, prior to attending Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He was a student from 1917 to 1921, and was one of the youngest of his class. He graduated in 1921 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at VPI, he was involved in the Tennis and Racquet clubs, and the Lee Literary Society, among other activities. </p><p>Senior photographs of James Bernard Jones are available online on page 92 of the <a target="_blank" href="https://digitalsc.lib.vt.edu/Bugle/1921Bugle" title="1921 Bugle">1921 Bugle</a> yearbook (page 98 of the PDF file).
