Scope and Content

These records contain printed circulars and brochures sent by various companies from across the country promoting their products, including hullers, gauges and meters, cleaning products, gasoline pumps, and scales. There are also several examples of supply catalogs specifically for sealers of weights and measures. Other brochures provide information on hotels in Virginia and Washington, D. C. In addition to product information, there are a number of informational brochures and public service announcments, addressing topics relevant to weights and meaures, including discussion of the metric system, railroad requirements, and various standardization acts. There is also a series of newspaper clippings related to weights and measures. Dates range from 1879 to 1922, including some undated items.
