Biographical Information

John Reynoldson Butterworth was born 13 April 1903 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, to Abner Goode Butterworth (1876-1950) and Julia Harris Butterworth (1880-1976). Butterworth collected several documents relating to Dinwiddie County's history. He died 26 August 1987 in Petersburg, Virginia.

Branton (b. 1810) of Dinwiddie County to the Southside Railroad. Letter and account, 1856, from Hall, Potts, & Branch to Isaac Roney (1800-1870) of Dinwiddie County. Letter, 4 December 1884, from Alexander Hamilton (1851-1916) of Petersburg to Frederick Peabody Leavenworth (1833-1920), detailing ownership of a particular piece of property in Dinwiddie County. Deed, dated 5 December 1884 and recorded 15 December 1884 in Dinwiddie County, for 44 acres in Dinwiddie County from Frank H.
