Papers, chiefly 1847-1887, of James Barron Hope. Correspondence includes letters to his mother Jane A. Barron Hope while on a naval cruise to the Caribbean and letters to his wife, Annie Beverley Whiting Hope written during the Civil War. There are letters between Jane A. Barron Hope and her friend, Caroline Matilda Campbell. Prominent correspondents in the collection include Jubal A. Early, Benjamin S. Ewell, Hugh Blair Grigsby, Fitzhugh Lee, W. H. F. Lee, Thomas Nelson Page, John Tyler and Robert Charles Winthrop. The collection also includes editorials, atories, a play, manuscript poems of Hope including his address at the Yorktown Centennial, as well as articles and letters concerning his death and his involvement in dueling.

This collection contains the correspondence of Leven Powell, James Madison, Charles Leven Powell, Charles Leven Powell, Jr., Selina Powell Hepburn, and others. Recipients include Burr Powell, Cuthbert Powell, Sewell Stavely Hepbron [Hepburn] and others. First 30 years of correspondence is mainly written by or addressed to Leven Powell, detailing his involvement in the Revolutionary War, the Virginia House of Delegates, and the United State Congress, including letters about the Election of 1800. After 1810, letters are primarily correspondence between various members of the Powell family, including some letters about the Civil War. Includes family tree of the Hepburn Family.

Records of the activities and meetings of the Ware River Circle of the King's Daughters organization. Includes scrapbooks, pamphlets, meeting minutes, president's books, treasurer's record books, and photographs. It is important to note that included with this collection are a copy of the 1912 minutes of this same organization. It is unclear if the original records exist or if they were damaged, lost, or destroyed so the copy was retained with the records. Removable media is also included in this collection including VHS tapes, 3.5 inch floppy discs, and a compact disc of events, records, and treasurer's reports.

Photographs, slides, and administrative records for The Flat Hat newspaper. Collection also includes digital media and 21 boxes of issues of the newspaper filed chronologically.

This collection includes sixteen prints collected by Galen W. Ewing to serve as accompanying illustrations to his article "Early Teaching of Science at the College of William and Mary in Virginia," Journal of Chemical Education, 15, No. 1 (Jan 1938); three notebooks filled with extensive manuscript notes and correspondence; thirteen engraving plates of various sizes used in printing the article. Primary source documents, research materials and drafts for James Critchfield's book, "Partners at the Creation the Men behind Postwar Germany's Defense and Intelligence Establishments." Includes information on Germans imprisoned by the Allies, and on De-Nazification, for which Critchfield conducted interviews; also included are two copies of a booklet about a camps for detainees ("Camp 71"). The illustrated booklet is written in German and one English translation insert is provided. Further included are oral history transcripts and documents relating to the Berlin Crises (1958-1961), the founding of the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), the declassified Central Intelligence Agency documents (1945-1949), a German-English intelligence glossary, biographical files and correspondence. Includes some Holocaust materials and photographs of concentration camp victims.

Genealogy material compiled by Mr. William S. Morton and his wife, Mrs. Margaret H. Morton of Farmville, Virginia which trace the descendants of Joseph Morton of Prince Edward County, Virginia and allied families. Includes primary source material, such as the 1830 daybook of the J. J. Dupuy Company of Charlotte Court House. Also, contains typescript of Richard Lee Morton's copy of Hugh Blair Grigsby's notes on the Robert Rose Diary and of William Cryer's transcript of the Charles Campbell diaries.

Posters, from 1962 to 2018, of feature films, documentaries, animated films, film events, and others that were produced in Cuba by Cuban artists. Posters were primarily created by using a silk screen process and were made for both Cuban and non-Cuban films.
