Genealogical records compiled by the donor and arranged alphabetically. The records list name, spouse's name, children's names, dates of life spans, marriage dates, and places of birth, marriage, death and burial. Also copies and typescripts of two church books of Henry D. Auville, Preacher in Charge of the Methodist Episcopal South mission at Circleville, Pendleton County. The books record attendance, membership status, officer status and rites performed.

Articles and charts of genealogy of the Bennett and allied families of Campbell, Dentzer, Dyer, Ellsworth, Fast, Forinash, Hinkle (Henkle/Henckel), Layman, McCally, Skidmore, Wagner and Weaver. Often mentioned names are John Bennett, Joseph Bennett, Levi Bennett, William Bennett, James Campbell, Moses Ellsworth, Anthonius Jacobus Henckel, John Justus Henckel, John Skidmore and Levi Skidmore. There are articles on the Bennett Coat of Arms, James Campbell, John Justus Henckel and Hinkle's Fort. The Hinkle articles mention the family as pioneers in what is now Pendleton County and the building of the fort that bears their name. Hinkle's Fort was an important patriotic outpost in this part of Virginia during the Revolutionary War. Material covers the years 1500-1991.

Color reproduction of a broadside advertising the public sale of lands of C. Ed Lukens, deceased. The lands to be sold are described as valuable timber, farming, and grazing lands and are located in Randolph and Pendleton counties. The broadside lists terms of sale and also describes the individual acreages for sale, including about 6,440 acres comprising twelve plots of land in Raleigh county and 523 acres comprising three farms in Pendleton county.

Two unpublished West Virginia-related short stories authored by donor, Charles E. Pittman. 'The Westernfield' and 'Simon and the Mystic' are works of fiction based on interviews conducted by Pittman with West Virginians. Both are set in the Seneca region, center around main character 'Simon McElvoy,' a simple mountain man, and highlight rural West Virginian culture and folklore. Onego, West Virginia, McElvoys hometown, is located in the Seneca region. Also includes a photographic portrait of Simon McElvoy.

Contains material regarding the Bodkin family of Pendleton County, West Virginia. Items within the collection include two Civil War era letters written by William H. Bodkin, other letters, sheriff's summons, receipts, a funeral program, genealogical information, and photographs of Bodkin family members with identification. The collection also contains a brown velvet bonnet and a black scarf; six homemade quilts and a quilted pillow; and a fedora hat. All items within this collection, except the bonnet, scarf, and quilted items, are facsimiles. See "Scope and Content Note" and "Historical Note" for further information.

Papers relating to the Full family of Pendleton and Wirt counties, West Virginia. Includes nearly 350 original items, each with an item number. Items are subdivided into three categories, including: 1. non-tax receipts, court-related documents, promissory notes, etc.; 2. letters, deeds (including a land grant), and miscellaneous longer items; and 3. tax receipts. The Full family lived in Pendleton County, (West) Virginia until moving in 1817 to what would become Wirt County (in 1848). In 1817, that area was still on the edge of the frontier. While the Full family were not the first settlers, they arrived when the area was still very sparsely settled. Their receipts and store account records reflect the growing population and increased availability of goods over time. As was typical of most settlers, they were farmers. Two documents highlight the problems that many settlers faced with getting clear title to their land. Several documents reflect Reuben Full's time serving as a Justice of the Peace for Wirt County (1858-1860). The oldest dated item relates to Lewis Full paying his Revenue Tax to Jos. Henkle via Joseph Roy in pounds, shillings and pence in Pendleton County in 1791. A few undated items are possibly older. Most items are dated between 1800 and 1880. The most recent document is a 1904 letter. The collection also includes a document of transcriptions (2015; in box 2), which includes background information on the family, a table of contents, and an index of persons, places, businesses, and topics.

Papers of Dr. Jasper Allen Moyers and his descendants. The Moyers family lived in Franklin, Pendleton County, W.Va. The collection includes personal and business correspondence, photographs, artifacts, and ephemera.
