Diary (1947-1948) of Betty Movern detailing her extended tour of post-war Europe. She describes the trips she made with her husband and adult son with hopes of selling the manuscript for eventual publication. She records visiting Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, and England. She describes a visit to Hitler's country home and meeting a German man who swam from Russian occupied East Germany to West Germany in order to obtain food for his family. Movern included many photos, postcards, pictures clipped from books, and a newspaper clipping.

This collection consists of letters written to and received by Daisy Crisler of Canton, Georgia for the years 1904 and 1914. The letters were written for the most part during ship voyages to Europe.

This collection consists of correspondence and personal papers documenting the life of E.R. McElligott, a draftsman in the 152nd Aero Squadron of the United States Army. The correspondence series contains 102 letters and several postcards written primarily by E.R. McElligott. Letters are written to various family members, particularly McElligott's sisters and parents, and describe his life in the military from enlistment to discharge. McElligott describes his travels from New York to San Antonio and finally to Illinois, England, and France. His letters give insight into the daily details, entertainments, and worries of an enlisted man as well as personal observations of various American and European cities. McElligott's letters also briefly touch on his job of salvaging and repairing damaged airplanes, although specific details regarding sensitive military information were censored. Personal papers include a special emergency card belonging to Pvt. E.R. McElligott.

A 77 page scrapbook containing 50 postcards, 3 dried flowers, 7 photos, and 254 pages of letters written by Genevieve Kerdell. Kerdell sent the letters and postcards to her parents over the course of her travels through Europe in 1928. The countries visited include Italy, France, Germany, and England.

Correspondence, 1947-1952, written by Hattie Sneyley of Crowborough, Sussex in England to Miss Doris Hastings Baxter, Riverdale, on Hudson, New York. The letters describe life in England just after the end of World War II. Some of the topics discussed in the letters include rationing, food shortages, variuos austerity measures, and social changes as a result of the war.

Includes manuscripts of poetry written by Julia Selden Grandy who lived in Norfolk, Va. and Baltimore, Md. as well as short stories by Grandy; translations by Grandy of French poetry written by Stephen Mallarme (1842-1898); diaries kept while in school in New York and on trips to Paris and London; published books by Grandy; and scrapbooks. Includes a biography, poem and her obituary.

Contains postcards, exhibit catalogs and tourist literature. The postcards, 1917-1919, of France were collected by [F.H. Maguire ?] who served as a captain in the U. S. Air Service. The collection includes passenger lists from the S.S. Coronia, May 23, 1911 (Liverpool to New York), R.M.S.P. Orea, June 19, 1926 (New York to Cherbourg and Southampton), and R.M.S.P. Avon, March 7, 1929 (New York to Bermuda.)

The Margot Backas letters contains correspondence to and from Professor Jack E. Morpurgo, Margot Backus and others. The letters span from 1958-1993.

Travel diary of Mrs. Thomas H. Bates of Ohio to the British Isles via the Queen Mary in an undetermined year, but post-1945. On June 8, she and her husband took the Akronite from Akron, Ohio to New York City. On June 9, they boarded the Queen Mary and traveled to England. They docked at Southampton and took the train to Hereford to a nephew's house. The couple visits her sister in Staffordshire and another sister in Wales and also visit other areas to look for her husband's family. The diary abruptly ends on August 5. The writer gives details of life on the ship, including one episode of trying to get food items past customs when they landed in England, plus details of her family and places she and her husband visited.
