William A. Wimbish letter to Clarence G. Crawford

This collection consists of a letter written in Lexington by Washington and Lee University student William A. Wimbish on March 28, 1877 to his former classmate, Clarence G. Crawford. Wimbish acknowledges that Crawford has been suffering from an illness. He then proceeds to give him updates on classmates, lodging, Delta Psi, and the classes he's currently taking. He relays that classmate Gip didn't return because he died from typhoid fever in August 1876. Wimbish describes his facial hair at the request of Crawford. He also discusses who is running for the debating medal in both the Washington Literary and Graham Philanthropic Societies and states that he was elected final orator for the Washington Literary Society.
