Briggs'remarks were likely given at an alumni event on the subject of liberal arts education and Greek philosophy.

Records of the Washington and Lee University radio station, WLUR 91.5, from its creation in 1967-68 to present. This record group is composed primarily of recordings from the radio station. Included among the tapes are earlier recordings from the Washington and Lee Journalism Dept. predating the founding of the radio station. The station was originally created as an arm of the Journalism Dept. It is now a branch of the Communications and Public Affairs Office.

This collection includes items kept by Lee F. Roberts while a student at Washington and Lee University during 1949-1950. Items include tickets to events such as the Fancy Dress Ball, sophomore and junior proms, Phi Gamma Delta and Phi Delta Theta concerts, the senior ball, finals ball, and Cotillion Club formal. Also included are the 1950 Fancy Dress Ball program, an invitation from President and Mrs. Gaines, the 1950 Finals Week program, the June 4, 1950 Baccalaureate Service program, the June 9, 1950 commencement program, Roberts' Phi Beta Kappa membership certificate and six black and white photographs from the 1950 Francy Dress Ball.

This collection holds documents related to Mr. November's time at Washington and Lee associated with the fraternity he belonged to: the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Zeta Beta Tau. He was the cartoonist for the national Zeta Beta Tau organization from 1948 to 1950, while also drawing cartoons for local publications in Rockbridge County and for fraternal events. Included are sketches, finished products, and correspondence about his work as a cartoonist and official Zeta Beta Tau publication.
