Collection, 1879-1985, of the Virginia Fire and Police Museum consisting of log books, supply books and lists, miscellaneous records, insurance brochures, reports on personnel and equipment, accounts and account books, requisitions, inventories, correspondence, house fund books, directories, lists of personnel, personnel histories, leave log books, Fireman's Mutual Aid Society records, burial funds, Fort Lee Fire Department time and attendance books, Board of Fire Commissioners meeting minutes, records of fires in Richmond, visitors register to the Virginia Fire and Police Museum, and miscellaneous loose papers. Log books contain company rosters, duties, watches, daily and monthly reports, alarms, equipment checks, leaves, absences, addresses and telephone numbers, supplies, accounts, weather observations, and other information. Loose papers consist of advertisements, calendars, department orders, receipts, vehicle reports, and other miscellaneous items.

Photographs, ca. 1875-ca. 1985, from the Virginia Fire and Police Museum of Richmond, Virginia, documenting over a century of fire fighting in Richmond. Photographs include images of fire companies; fire fighters; equipment; vehicles including engines, trucks, and steamers; horses used to pull fire vehicles; fires and fire fighting; fire fighting training; ruins; and street scenes. Also photographs of accidents; rescue workers; funerals; fundraisers; Christmas parties; fire and police department baseball teams; automobiles; parades; and the Virginia Fire and Police Museum. Of special interests are photographs of Richmond's African American fire fighters interspersed throughout the collection as well as a section grouped together at the beginning of box 11 which contain captions used in an exhibit. Also includes in box 11 newspaper clippings about various fires in and around Richmond.

Records, 1960-2016, of the Virginia Genealogical Society, including awards program nominations, Board of Governors meeting agendas and minutes, conference materials, constitutions and bylaws, correspondence, financial records, grant files, membership lists, publication and project files, copies of the Quarterly Bulletin and Newsletter, and scrapbooks.

This collection consists of a collection of office subject files collected over the years by the society. They are primarily genealogical in nature and are arranged alphabetically. There are some cemetery and census transcriptions as well as newsletters and Bible records.

Records, 1918-1926, collected and created by the committee investigating the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Includes financial records of the department, depositions, and a transcript of the committee proceedings. Of note are the reports, ca. 1926, which include the majority and minority reports of the Committee, as well as a statement from Governor E. Lee Trinkle.

The State Coordinated Reduction of Reporting Requirements and Paperwork (SCRRRAP) Project Records, 1980-1987, are arranged into two series and housed in 28 boxes. These records include agendas, correspondence, forms, inventories, memorandum, notes, publications, reports, and surveys documenting the work performed by the Project, including final reports and recommendations. The bulk of the collection consists of the forms gathered from the various state agencies, along with surveys, inventories, and correspondence with each state agency regarding the forms used. Included are research files containing reports from other state governments on their efforts to reduce paperwork and various articles about the subject. Also included are the files of Alan D. Albert (Special Assistant to the Governor) and David L. Nunley (SCRRRAP Initiative Coordinator).

Contains escheated land records collected by the Governor's Office over the span of several decades and administrations. How the records came to be in one place is unknown. Included are escheated land files created by city and county escheators and sent to the Register of the Land Office, as well as lists of escheated land created by the Register of the Land Office and submitted to the governor.

The records of the Virginia Guardsman are organized into three series with series designated for General Files, Publications, and Photographs. These records represent the work of Bernard H. Baylor, Editor of the Virginia Guardsman between 1925 and 1939. Baylor also served as Assistant to the Adjutant General beginning in 1925. The collection contains correspondence, memos, forms, photographs, publications, magazines, regulations, notes, and receipts.

This collection gives minutes, correspondence, subject files and support documentation highlighting the Commonwealth's effort to monitor and review the policies and budgetary procedures of hospitals and medical facilities within the state.

This accession consists of 33 sets of architectural elevations, floor plans, and details of structures from across the Commonwealth of Virginia executed by the Virginia Historic Lanmarks Commission on behalf of the Historic American Buildings Survey. The drawings include structures in Accomack, Albemarle, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Essex, Greene, Northampton, Pittsylvania, Prince Edward, Rockbridge, Shenandoah, and Sussex Counties and Charlottesville, Hampton, Lexington, and Richmond Cities. Depicted are residences, mills, churches, and farm buildings.
