This collection contains numerous documents, either personal or business, of Thomson Mason. All correspondence is Mason's unless otherwise indicated. Other documents found are legal ones dealing with all phases of Mason's practice, both in and out of Virginia. Several items are from his period as Mayor of Alexandria and President of Middle Turnpike Corporation. Early documents deal with the buying and selling of slaves.

This collection is comprised almost entirely of correspondence relating to O'Sullivan's work with the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey during the late 19th century.

The collection includes clippings documenting the history of sports in Alexandria, the careers of Walton and Jack Tulloch, obituaries of friends, the George Mason Hotel, and local politics. Also included are Walton Tulloch's school documents, family memorabilia, and photographs of the Alexandria National Guard, of Jack and Walton Tulloch, and of their friends and family.

This collection contains items pertaining to the UDC chapter such as year books, publications, miscellaneous items, and minutes of the UDC chapter.

This collection contains a single ledger listing land in Alexandria and surrounding counties (Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William) confiscated by the U.S. from Alexandria citizens.

The collection consists of the original handwritten manuscript of John O' Jamestown (1907).

This collection contains materials collected by Esther Green and Helen Cummings during their time as members of the VFWC. Within this collection are letters and correspondences, Federation yearbooks, meeting minutes, and membership applications.

The collection consists of various objects, writings and ephemera pertaining to the Vowell-Creighton family. Most of the materials are from Hattie Vowell-Creighton. Writings include genealogical information and poetry written by Hattie. One piece of realia: a locket which includes a lock of hair, likely from Mary Vowell. There are a number of unidentified photographs, likely Vowell-Creighton family members. The oversized materials include certificates for the United Daughters of the Confederacy and an application for the Daughters of the Revolution.
