Abstract Or Scope
Incoming letters of two soldiers from Monongalia County, Edgar C. Jennewine and Frederick N. Jennewine of the 10th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, who fought in both the Spanish-American War and in the immediately following Philippine-American War. Includes 40 original letters, many with their envelopes, as well as some clippings and a photograph. Subjects of the letters include descriptions of Manila, attitudes toward and descriptions of Philippine natives and their material culture, and detailed narratives of battles with the Spanish and the Philippine natives. Also includes complete set of facsimiles with transcripts available in book form.
